The Executive Branch has one job: To enforce laws. Everything from your local DMV to the school your sitting in now are examples of laws passed by Congress, ruled Constitutional by the Supreme Court, and then enforced by the bureaucracy.

Presidential Terms and Pay:
When a president is elected into office, he is to serve for 4 years. Once those 4 years are up, he can either chose to retire and not run again or he can try to win another 4 year term. The 22nd amendment limits a president to 2 terms. Two two, 2 terms. Unlike common thought, the president does not necessarily make bank. With a salary of $400,000, he could buy 1,000 kids a new Xbox One or feed 200,000 Ethiopians for a day. |
Presidential Succession:
During a worse case scenario, when a president dies or is unable to serve functionally he can be replaced. The list on the right is the succession in order of who would take office. In some crazy and extremely unlikely plot in which everyone of these individuals would be deemed unfit to serve (White House Down), then who knows who would be in charge. But at least one of these members is kept secure during addresses and meetings in case of a freak accident or plot. |

Office of the Vice President:
Constitutionally, the VP is only required to preside over the Senate and vote during a rare tie. Though very recently they have played key parts in policy discussions and diplomatic courses.

Electoral College:
The Electoral College is made up by how many people represent your state in Congress. My beautiful state of Wisconsin has 8 members in the House and 2 Senators giving Wisconsin 10 electors. Much larger states such as California have more electors because they have more Congressman representing them therefore should have more sway to their votes. |
